Do no harm standard
CAIIA will not knowingly facilitate a project or initiative associated with material corruption, sanctions evasion, forced labor, human trafficking, severe environmental or social harm, unlawful land acquisition, or another gross violation of law or fundamental human rights.
CAIIA may pause, refuse, or terminate support where information is unreliable, cooperation with review is refused, a material concern cannot be reasonably mitigated, or continued involvement would expose CAIIA or affected stakeholders to unacceptable risk.
Roles and responsibilities
CAIIA may screen information, identify issues, request clarification, recommend safeguards, coordinate
dialogue, and refer matters to qualified experts. Project sponsors and investors remain responsible for their
decisions, due diligence, permits, legal compliance, financing, professional advice, stakeholder obligations,
and project impacts.
Reporting a concern
If you have a good-faith concern about conduct connected to CAIIA, a member, a partner, or a CAIIAsupported engagement, use the confidential compliance channel.
CAIIA prohibits retaliation against a person who raises a bona fide concern. Reports should be factual and
made in good faith. Confidentiality will be protected to the extent reasonably possible and consistent with a
fair review and legal obligations.
